Size systems
Size systems differ mainly according to the use of size units. The following numbering systems are widespread in the world:

French numbering (EU) - size unit 1 French stitch (= 6.6 mm, half number = 3.3 mm)
English numbering (UK) - unit of size 1/3 inch (= 8.4 mm, half number = 4.2 mm)
Metric numbering – unit of size 1 cm

Due to the use of different size units, deviations arise during conversion. In principle, however, the following applies:

Approach:

  • Place your foot on a tape measure, ruler or white paper.
  • Measure the length of your foot from heel to toe.
  • Only in exceptional cases are both legs the same length. Therefore, we recommend measuring both feet and using the length of the longer one to calculate the correct shoe size.
  • In the optimal case, the shoe should sit well and firmly on your foot in the back, and there should be enough space in the front. If the shoe is big, it can interfere with walking.
